Kids grow up so fast! Don’t miss out on spending quality time with them while they’re still young. Need ideas? Check out our list of ideas for spending quality time with your kids.
Ways to Spend Quality Time with Your Kids
1. Download a “Would You Rather…” App and Play Together
“Would You Rather…” is an game where you ask a question like “Would you rather lose all of your hair or have thick hair all over your body?” I always found it difficult to come up with ideas for questions, but I found that there are phone apps that have questions for you. Some of the questions are great conversation starters. Give it a try!
2. Have Them Show You How to Play Their Favorite Video Game
Yes, we should try to limit our kids’ screen time, but screen time together shouldn’t count. Have your child show you how to play their favorite video game. Even if it isn’t your thing, it is a great way to spend quality time together.
3. Go for a Walk around the Neighborhood
This is an oldie but a goodie. Weather permitting, a half-hour walk around the neighborhood is a fun way to get a little exercise and explore the neighborhood. Hint…Bring a plastic grocery bag in case you see any litter!
4. Make a Fun Snack
You might have to prep for this one, but making a snack that is out of the ordinary is a fun (and tasty) way to spend quality time with your kids. Do a Google or Pinterest search for “fun snacks for kids”, pick up the ingredients the next time you go shopping, and enjoy!
5. Do a Google Search for “Clean Jokes”
You can never go wrong with searching for “funny clean jokes” or “funny jokes for kids”. Cuddle up on the couch and get your giggle on!
6. Clean out Your Board Games and Cards
If you’re like me, you have a shelf or two of board games and cards that always seems to be a mess. Pull it all out and separate them into four piles: Keep, donate, toss, and “play soon”.
7. Watch Funny YouTube Videos
Have an extra 15-360 minutes? Watching funny videos on YouTube might be just the ticket. Narrow your search to “funny cat videos” or “funny fails”, and let the laughs begin!
